The Matrix vs. The Mandela Effect: As humans, are we living in a bubble or having senior moments? Or as AI recommended: Are we living in simulation or just mis-remembering history? Either question will do. After all, to quote Sherlock Holmes: Elementary, my dear Watson. First, it is not as if
Lest We Forget: Hurricane Katrina and Louisiana—What I Remember Most

What I remember most about Hurricane Katrina was that before we could catch our breath, wrap our head around the cataclysmic devastation, or even mourn our beloved Crescent City, Hurricane Rita hit and its aftermath nearly flattened Lake Charles. What I remember secondly was the outpouring of global love and support,

When a last bout with Covid ended, I worried that so had my career. I could no longer think in straight lines, and I needed my analytic conscious to complete tasks. I could not focus. I worried not only for my job, but the fact that I also freelanced for a

Gremlin Bots and Other Terror: Why It’s Vital to Protect Yourself Online!
Often the “hard’ way is the “best” way to learn a lesson even though it is accompanied by physical and/or mental pain. I was not that child who had to be told twice not to touch the stove burner, but I did learn the hard way on why you should not hold a firecracker too […]

STOP Playing Small: Grow into Your Purpose!
I’ve probably been playing small all of my life given the fact that I’m a member of the “short people” population, and therefore, have always been in front where I was forced to endure a spotlight. In some cases, it was no problem, such as a group photo or class picture. But when it came […]

After my family settled in my father's hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana, I later discovered a vibrant culture that inspired my passion for writing and community advocacy. I’ve channeled this passion into my work, from co-publishing Creole Magazine in the 1990s to authoring For Shakespeare's Stepchildren: 10 Essential Writing Tips and Techniques: Secrets of Successful Writers, available on Amazon now. And recently, I uploaded my thesis in book format, Just As Brutal But Without All the Fanfare: African American Students, Racism, and Defiance during the Desegregation of Southwestern Louisiana Institute, 1954-1964, which tells the inspirational story of the brave young men and women who desegregated the school, today known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It became the first higher education institution to desegregate in the Deep South.
